Impaired Driving
34% of Louisiana traffic fatalities involved alcohol and drugs in 2024.*

Louisiana prohibits anyone under 21 from buying, consuming, or having alcoholic beverages in their possession. To address the issue, the SHSP combines high visibility enforcement with education and media efforts. The Warrants for Blood Policy was implemented to heighten public safety awareness that DWI is a crime, not just simply a traffic offense.
